The Highrise Shorty is designed for riders who like to move around a lot.  A Shorty seat accommodates lots of shifting from side to side.  It enables the rider to swing their feet around the back of the seat as opposed to lifting them up and over.

Shorty seats in most cases are Highrises (3" above stock).  They are not available for all sleds, but most of the more popular snowmobile seats can be purchased as Shorties.
